    Brandon PTA announcements for the week January 13, 2014

    JOG-A-THON PRIZE DATES
    The dates are set for eligible Islanders to enjoy the prizes they earned for raising money for the Brandon Jog-a-thon! Teachers have a list of eligible students. A mistake was made in the printing of the prizes — children do not have to bring Prize Coupons to school, after all. (Exception: Homework Passes must be presented to redeem.) If you have any questions, contact Jennifer Adams at 1adams1212@gmail.com. Thanks again for helping Brandon raise over $25,000!
    K/1 Extra Recess – Friday, January 17th at 9:30 am
    Kindergarten Ice Cream – Friday, January 17th at 1:10 pm for earning the most money as a grade level
    Computer Time with Mr. T – Thursday, January 23rd 12:30-1:30 pm
    3rd-6th PE with Mr. Pierce – Thursday, January 23rd 1:15-2:00 pm
    Pizza and Games with Mrs. Roggero – Friday, January 24th during grade level lunch times
    2nd Grade Extra Recess – Friday, January 24th at 10:00 am
    K-2 PE with Coach Ruth – Tuesday, March 11th 9:15-10:00 am

    UNDERSTANDING BULLYING
    This special, free evening session for parents will be delivered by National Presenter Wayne Sakamoto, Director of School Safety, Murrieta Valley Unified School District. Topics will include: How to recognize if your child is being bullied; Developing approaches for use with your child’s school to resolve a bullying issue; How bullying is different for boys and girls; and Understanding cyberbullying. The event is co-sponsored by Santa Barbara County Education Office and Sprigeo.

    Information regarding Brandon Elementary School’s after-school enrichment classes is provided as a service to families of students at Brandon Elementary School. The Brandon PTA is neither sponsoring nor endorsing the enrichment classes or the agencies/businesses providing the classes.

    AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS (RUN BY MR. T)
    Duration: 10 weeks (February 4th/6th – late April), 12 students max
    To register: fill out form sent home in Friday Folders; turn in the form & payment to the office
    Cost: $125 for 10 classes

    LEGO WeDo Club: Grades 2-4, Tuesdays @ Brandon School, 3:00-4:00 pm
    February 4th to April 22nd (10 weeks total)
    Warning: Same material, if you’ve already done the class.
    Digital Yearbook Club: Grades 4-6, Thursdays @ Brandon School, 2:00-3:00 pm
    February 6th to April 24th (10 weeks total)
