    BRANDON PTA’s INVEST IN YOUR ISLANDER CONTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN
    Thanks to the PTA Classroom Grants, many teachers are planning their field trips for the year. Bus transportation is expensive. The PTA grants make it possible for your child to extend his/her learning experiences outside the classroom.

    BOOK FAIR – THANK YOU
    The Brandon Fall Book Fair was a great success. Thank you to all the families who supported the fair. $1200 was raised for our wonderful Brandon Library and over 60 books were donated to classrooms.
    Special thanks to the parent volunteers who helped run the fair: Marianne Wampler, June Snow, Monica Irwin, Liz Ruehlman, Rose Baker, Yvonne Kleeburg, Jennifer Adams, Richelle Gates, Tara Davis, Song Vang, Kym Bishop, Colleen Severson, April Medina-Watson, Mailee Xiong, Becca Wrench, Nelly Traytcheva and Sara Iza. The Book Fair would not be possible without your help. Thanks also to the 6th grade students who volunteered their time.

    CIMI BAKE SALES
    Starting this Thursday, September 26th, 6th grade families will be hosting Bake Sales after school to help raise money for CIMI (Catalina Island Marine Institute). Stop by and purchase a yummy snack.

    PTA MEMBERSHIP
    Branch Out with Brandon PTA!
    Membership envelopes were sent home in Friday Folders and are also available in the school office. Memberships are $6 per person and include the very useful Brandon Directory. The whole family can join — both parents and children!

    BRANDON T-SHIRTS & SWEATSHIRTS
    Show your Brandon pride with a Brandon Islanders T-Shirt or Sweatshirt.
    Youth T-Shirts are $7; Adult Long-Sleeved T-Shirts are $15, and Youth Hooded Sweatshirts are $20.
    Shirts and Sweatshirts will be on sale in front of school on Tuesday, September 24th before and after school.

    Please remember to save your Box Tops for our Fall Collection. For each Box Top collected, Brandon School receives 10 cents. Box Tops will be collected from classrooms on October 18th.

    61st ANNUAL BREAKFAST WITH THE AUTHORS – Saturday, October 5th, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
    Come celebrate the 61st Annual Breakfast with the Authors to be held at the County Education Office Auditorium on Saturday, October 5th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. This unique Santa Barbara literary event will feature a three-member panel discussion to address how the Common Core Standards will impact children¹s literature. The program also includes an open mic forum, authors’ comments, and the chance to purchase personally autographed books.     Registration is required (deadline Sept. 26th). Tickets are $16 and include a delicious catered brunch. Students 12 and older are welcome to attend at a reduced ticket price of $10 each.

    Information regarding Brandon Elementary School’s after-school enrichment classes is provided as a service to families of students at Brandon Elementary School. The Brandon PTA is neither sponsoring nor endorsing the enrichment classes or the agencies/businesses providing the classes.

    AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS (RUN BY MR. T)
    Duration: 10 weeks (October to December), 12 students max
    To register, fill out form sent home in Friday Folders; turn in the form & payment to the office.
    Cost: $125 for 10 classes, Scholarships available.
    LEGO WeDo Club: Grades 2-4, Tuesdays @ Brandon School, 3:00-4:00pm
    October 1st to December 17th(10 weeks total) [2 week break @ Thanksgiving]
    *Spring Session will be Grades 1-4*

    Digital Yearbook Club: Grades 4-6, Thursdays @ Brandon School, 2:00-3:00pm
